This is OK if you adjust it and keep it in place. You can always use replacements or alternatives that might have metal threads. This gooseneck is easy to adjust. It can be clamped onto or removed from various cymbal, drum, keyboard, etc stands quickly and easily. The rubbery tube covering the gooseneck can help prevent premature wear on mic cables or other surfaces it may contact. The microphone holding clip on this is spring-loaded and the spring is pretty strong, which is good, especially for use with drums (See NOTE below).
